Studio 54 , con pasado Stone , se subasta dejando 300 mil dolares


La pieza más cara que se vende sobre la desaparecida discoteca neoyorquina es una estatua en metal de Andy Warhol, por la que pagaron 52 mil 800 dólares

NUEVA YORK.- Algunas de las piezas que pertenecieron al legendario club neoyorkino Studio 54 cosecharon más de 300 mil dólares en una subasta celebrada en Florida.

Según informaron medios estadunidenses, la puja más alta fue para una estatua en metal de Andy Warhol, habitual del local, por la que se pagaron 52 mil 800 dólares.

Otra fotografía tomada por el artista pop, en la que aparecen Tina Turner, Rod Stewart y Cher junto al dueño de Studio 54, Steve Rubell, fue subastada por 11 mil 400 dólares, informó la casa Palm Beach Modern Auctions.

En total, más de mil personas acudieron el sábado a la subasta, en la que también se ofrecían mesas, sillas y lámparas del club.

Los objetos pertenecieron a Rubell, que falleció en 1989 y se los dejó a su pareja, la diseñadora Bill Hamilton.

En el Studio 54 bailaron estrellas como Bianca Jagger, Truman Capote, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minelli, Diana Ross y Frank Sinatra entre 1977 y 1981.

Ese año, Rubell y su socio Ian Schrager vendieron el que fuera el club más famoso del mundo.

La discoteca siguió funcionando hasta 1991 con otros gestores y actualmente el edificio neoyorquino alberga un teatro.

PASADO CON "AIRE STONE" , UN POCO DE HISTORIA 

Studio 54 fue gestionado por Steve Rubell, un personaje llamativo y abiertamente homosexual, y su amigo heterosexual de perfil más bajo Ian Schrager. Habían dirigido otro local en la zona de Queens y fue Carmen D'Alessio, relaciones públicas del modisto Valentino, quien les sugirió «dar el salto a Manhattan» abriendo un club para los círculos más chic de la ciudad. Ella les puso en contacto con Andy Warhol, quien acudiría a la cena pre-inaugural al igual que Calvin Klein.

Carmen D'Alessio contaba con valiosos contactos entre la jet-set europea y americana, y para la inauguración del local, remitió invitaciones por correo a 5.000 personas elegidas de sus listas de amigos y conocidos ilustres. A la inauguración acudieron Mick Jagger y su entonces pareja, Bianca, Salvador Dalí, Liza Minnelli, Donald Trump y su esposa Ivana, Debbie Harry, Brooke Shields y un largo etcétera. Varias estrellas como Warren Beatty, Cher, Woody Allen y Frank Sinatra querían disfrutar del festejo pero no pudieron entrar; se cuenta que varios de ellos fueron rechazados por el despótico control que se ejercía en la puerta.

Una semana después de la inauguración, Studio 54 abrió de manera excepcional en lunes, para la fiesta de cumpleaños de Bianca Jagger, quien llegó montada en un caballo blanco. Acontecimientos como éste apuntalaron el renombre del local entre los famosos y dieron pie a otras fiestas que reunían a público de edades y gustos dispares.

Studio, como se le llegó a llamar, estaba dentro de un viejo teatro; los palcos eran conocidos por los encuentros sexuales, y el uso de las drogas era ilimitado. Su pista de baile estaba decorada con una imagen de una Luna con cara de hombre, el cual inhalaba coca

 La mismisima Margaret Trudeau  estuvo en  el Studio 54. Trudeau fue la entonces esposa del primer ministro canadiense Pierre Trudeau. Se rumoreo que tuvo un romance con Ronnie Wood y Mick Jagger, posiblemente, incluso antes de terminar su matrimonio de alto perfil en 1984.

Keef y Patti Hansen se conocieron en 1979 en el Studio 54, cuando una amiga de la modelo le pidió a Richards si les podía conseguir una botella de champaña. “Ella apuntó a esta belleza rubia que bailaba con su pelo salvaje… No la volví a ver por un tiempo, pero esa imagen quedó en mi mente”, ha dicho él sobre su primer encuentro

La fiesta de clausura de Studio 54 tuvo lugar en febrero de 1980 y fue llamada «El final de la Gomorra moderna»; acudieron Diana Ross, Ryan O'Neal, Jack Nicholson, Richard Gere y Sylvester Stallone. Se cuenta que la última copa que se sirvió la bebió Stallone.

PAST WITH "STONE AIR" . A LITTLE HISTORY

Studio 54 was operated by Steve Rubell, a flamboyant and openly gay character, and his friend straight lower profile Ian Schrager. The inauguration was attended by Mick Jagger and his then partner, Bianca, Salvador Dalí, Liza Minnelli, Donald Trump and his wife Ivana, Debbie Harry, Brooke Shields and many others. Several stars like Warren Beatty, Cher, Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen wanted to enjoy the festivities but could not get in, is that several of them were rejected by the despotic control that is exerted on the door.

A week after the inauguration, Studio 54 opened exceptionally on Monday for the birthday party of Bianca Jagger, who came mounted on a white horse. Events like this underpinned the popularity of the place among the famous and led to other parties which gathered audiences of diverse ages and tastes.

Studio, as it came to be called, was inside an old theater, the balconies were known for sexual encounters, and drug use was unlimited. Its dance floor was decorated with an image of a moon-faced man, who snorted cocaine

 Was the very Margaret Trudeau at Studio 54. Trudeau was the then-wife of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. It was rumored that he had an affair with Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood, possibly even before finishing his high-profile marriage in 1984.
